So we decided to take a family camping trip this last weekend to beautiful Lily Lake campground. It was certainly filled with adventures. When we got there on Friday it was really cloudy and sure to rain. After setting things up it began to pour. Luckily we had already ate because there was no camp fire that was going to make it through that storm. Well it rained and rained and thundered all night and into the morning. Oh, did I mention we forgot pillows, needless to say we slept very little between the rain and using the small dog bed as the community pillow. The next day we decided we better pack up and leave and as we were taking the tent down it began to HAIL!!!! When does it hail in August people????? So we got out of there as fast as our ice cold hands would let us. When we got home we were so tired we left everything in the car and quickly showered and took a really long nap. Feeling great we went outside to unload the car and bam the sky's were clear and beautiful. One look at each other and we headed back up the mountain. Crazy? Yes, but we had paid for the whole weekend and bought this really cool raft and were trying to find any excuse to use it. When we arrived at our beautiful lakeside spot we set everything back up again and were so happy we did. It turned out to be a perfect day full of fun 'outdorsy' stuff. We remembered pillows this time and slept peacefully other than the moose (just a guess) that stalked our tent for awhile. The next day we took out the raft and had lunches on the lake with the pups. A perfect day and well worth the second drive up the canyon.
~Awwwww...This is the life~

Sometimes you just have to wait out the storms in order to enjoy the sunshine!

Lol! You are so funny. I can't believe it hailed in August!
